Welcome to my website!
As a downtown resident and active leader in the community, I am passionate
about all Cincinnati has to offer its residents and visitors. We are blessed with an
amazing array of cultural destinations, restaurants, professional sports, and other
attractions that are uniquely Cincinnatian.
I am running for City Council because I do not believe our current leaders have
allowed Cincinnati to live up to its potential. Looking at the field for this race, I see
too many incumbents and former Council members seeking to be re-elected.
Cincinnati has lost about 1/3 of its population since the 1970s while neighboring cities like Lexington,
Louisville, Indianapolis and Columbus have all increased in population during this same timeframe. The
consequences of our population loss are enormous. We have one of the highest tax rates in the state, a
high poverty rate, high crime, and a city budget deficit that only continues to grow. City Council has only
been treating the symptoms of our problems when they should also be addressing the core problem: loss
of population. At the same time, it is also critical to maintain our core infrastructure and services.
Cincinnati needs a strategic plan that is longer-term in nature, but also addresses immediate and short-
term needs.
It is time for Cincinnati to SOAR to new heights and with your help, I can bring progressive change to City
Hall.
My campaign is: “It’s time for Cincinnati to SOAR to New Heights”. The pillars of my campaign represent
what must be done for Cincinnati to reclaim its prominence of truly being the Queen City:
1) Safety – Cincinnatians deserve a city that is “S”afe and clean. Council must work with local leaders,
neighborhoods and enforcement agencies to keep our city streets safe. This requires more than
putting additional officers on patrol. We must also address the root cause of our crime, which requires
a longer-term solution.
2) Overhaul spending – Spending must be “O”verhauled to be more effective. Our current budget deficit is
only going to get worse with our current council, as expenses continue to outpace revenues. Council
should reallocate funding to those programs that are most beneficial to our city and eliminate programs
that are no longer effective. Fiscal responsibility is critical for having a healthy city.
3) Attract new residents and businesses (both large and small) – “A”ttracting people to Cincinnati will
spur the economy. A safer city, the Banks Project and lower taxes (among other things) will encourage
population growth. City Council must pass legislation that stimulates repopulation. I will work with
developers and community leaders to promote growth.
4) Reduce taxes – Our hard working citizens deserve “R”educed taxes that are more in line with the rest
of the state. Cincinnati’s taxes are one of the highest in the state, largely a result of our smaller tax base
and irresponsible spending. Repopulation and fiscal responsibility will help ease the tax burden on our
hard working citizens.
When elected to City Council, I will work with our public leaders, neighborhoods, other council members
and private enterprises to promote positive change in attracting new businesses and residents to
Cincinnati while protecting our existing assets and population. Our future depends on it.
Please stop back again to see new developments happening with my campaign and updates to this
website.
